Job Summary
This is a stand-alone position who provides support to executives. Exercises confidentiality, tact and diplomacy. Deep experience using Microsoft Office products - Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS, SharePoint, Excel to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc. Must be comfortable preparing and editing executive presentations for SMC/Board level. Must be able to proactively anticipate and manage work needs for executives and adapt to evolving priorities. May prepare responses to routine correspondence and inquiries. Receives, screens and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail and e-mail. Maintains files, records, calendars and diaries; typically arranges business travel, coordinates meeting arrangements, and tracks expenses. Completes work with a limited degree of supervision; serves in a non-exempt capacity.
Responsibilities

Uses business software applications (e.g., word processing, presentation and spreadsheet) to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc

Basic/Required Qualifications

Executive Assistant I

Bachelor's degree
-
In addition to required degree, minimum two (2) years relevant work experience

In lieu of required degree, high school diploma/GED and minimum four (4) years relevant work experience'
Executive Assistant II

Bachelor's degree

In addition to required degree, minimum six (6) years relevant work experience

Effective organizational skills enough to prioritize work and complete assignments accurately, either independently or as part of a team, while under the pressure of competing deadlines and with frequent interruptions

Ability to positively and effectively interact and communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a professional and culturally diverse workforce as well as with those external to Duke Energy, such as community-based organizational groups, industry-related organizations, government agencies, etc.

Exemplary organizational skills with demonstrated ability to respond quickly to changing priorities

Self-motivated; takes initiative to maintain productivity with minimal oversight

Thorough knowledge of the Duke Energy organization as well as its policies and procedures

Extensive experience in providing senior-level executive administrative support with proven aptitude to manage numerous confidential documents and issues on behalf of an executive

Experience effectively managing the internal/external time commitments of an executive to facilitate the most effective use of the executive’s time

Experience working with Microsoft office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint
