Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated House Manager to oversee the efficient operation of a private household. The household includes a busy executive couple with 3 dogs and 6 cats (no human children). The couple has a 3,000SF city house in Nashville, TN, with a 10,000SF home under construction to be completed in Q4 2024, along with a farm property 50 miles south in Culleoka, TN. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set to manage various aspects of household management.
This is a long-term, full-time position for an experienced, adaptable, and professional manager with strong leadership skills. The couple has existing cleaning, lawn, farm, and maintenance vendors. The candidate will be able to review current household support vendors and employees and make appropriate recommendations for long-term stability on potential positions, e.g., housekeeper, caretaker, Farm Manager, etc.
Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate household staff, including housekeepers, chefs, and vendors.
- Manage animal care, including daily feed/water, vaccination schedules, and veterinary visits.
- Organize and manage household schedules and appointments
- Provide administrative support, such as managing budgets and maintaining household records
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the residence
- Oversee meal planning and preparation, including cooking when necessary
- Coordinate with external service providers for maintenance and repairs
- Support travel arrangements, including airfare, accommodations, dining reservations, and itinerary preparation
- Provide exceptional customer service to family members and guests
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in supervising household staff
- Must be an animal person. Livestock / Equestrian experience is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Background in animal care or related fields is advantageous
- Proficiency in administrative tasks related to household management
- Works Independently with good Communication skills
- Knowledge of housekeeping management practices
- Ability to cook meals or coordinate meal preparation
- Experience in a hospitality setting, such as hotels, is beneficial
- Previous work as a personal assistant or in a similar role is a plus
- Ability to professionally and discreetly represent the household
- Capability to handle laundry duties effectively
