Description:
This is the mid-level position title within this department. Employees at this level are expected to have developed a trade of expertise for machine maintenance and production equipment repairs; Installs, maintains and repairs hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical and electrical systems on all production equipment and can work independently in the performance of standard maintenance and repairs.
Requirements:Job Functions:
- All duties covered under Maintenance Technician I.
- Daily, receives assigned work orders to complete on equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs to equipment.
- Maintains and makes routine repairs to electrically powered equipment and appliances according to instruction from senior technicians, supervisor and/or service manuals
- Perform structural repair, alterations, or improvement work
- Upon completion of work, provides an update to the supervisor or enters into a tracking software system for filing and tracking.
- Performs scheduled PMs and visually inspect and test assigned machines and equipment for proper functionality.
- May be required to order parts as needed.
- Perform repairs on production machines and/or equipment when a malfunction has been detected.
- Perform machine installations/moves and building maintenance tasks as needed.
- Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
- Ensures that a high level of safety is adhered to at all times on and off the production floor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Able to work days, including overtime
- PC competency, Word & Excel and Windows OS
- Electrical understanding
Safety Responsibilities, but limited to:
- Hot work permits when welding, cutting, grinding or anything that would require a hot work permit
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out when necessary
- Follow all Manufacturing Safety regulations/ADOSH guidelines
- Wear hearing protection in all areas of the plant
- Follow all common employee safety practices
Experience in the following areas:
- Repair of material handling equipment
- Predictive/ Preventative maintenance tools and procedure completion and implementation
- Woodworking, cabinet manufacturing fabrication
- Electrical and electronic principles
- Three year documented industrial maintenance experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head
- Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
- Walking in the FC and around area with great frequency
- Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
- Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs without assistance
