Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for selling and serving new and existing accounts for Buckingham Companies customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and services.
Typical Duties:
- This position utilizes a consultative sales approach in the sale of Buckingham Companies services to small and/or less complex commercial accounts in an assigned territory/segment.
- The sales representative is responsible for prospecting and closing to achieve sales revenue goals by developing and implementing sound selling strategies that ensure revenue growth.
- Prepares for and executes cold calls to influence potential commercial customers into setting appointments with the purpose of presenting and selling Buckingham Companies services and conducts pre-sale activities to gain understanding of the customers’ needs and prepare for the meeting.
- This includes gathering appropriate marketing material and pricing plans, identifying customer needs and interests to determine the best sales strategy and identifying potential objections with plans to address during the sales meeting.
- This position initiates and follows-up with customers to sell services or resolve problems, answer questions and respond to correspondence.
- Contacts current and prospective customers to sell and explain services and solicit new business within our market area.
- Prepares and presents proposals, quotes and recommends services based on customer needs.
- Provides advisory support and assistance to Buckingham Companies management personnel.
- Attends before and after business hours meetings, organizational events and community events.
- This position requires a professional demeanor to provide timely and accurate information to incoming customer requests for service and product requests.
- Process customer orders/changes according to company policies and procedures.
- Provide timely feedback and resolution to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns.
- This job had no supervisory duties.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education (4 Year College Degree).
- 1 year of sales experience.
- Must have strong computer skills in a variety of applications and ability to learn Soft-Pak Software. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Excel spreadsheet knowledge required.
- Must have reliable vehicle for sales calls and attending after/before hour’s meetings and/or events.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, service agreements, documents and regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the general public. Skill and ability to meet people and listen.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be willing to work at evening and weekend events promoting Buckingham Companies.
- Must be able to demonstrate strong time management abilities, have ability to multi-task, and have attention to detail qualities.
- Abilities to set goals and proficient in time management.
- Must be able to pass criminal background checks and pre-employment drug screen.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to perform keyboard operations, talk and hear. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, reach with hands and arms, and be able to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
- Work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job and includes travel out of the office to maintain and service new and current customer accounts as requested.
