We are looking for a customer-oriented service associate for our bath & body products store on the Washington Street Mall in Cape May. The customer service associate (CSA) will serve as a sales representative and primary point of contact for customer interaction during the customer's visit to our store. We need CSAs who are genuinely excited to help customers. The ideal candidates will be friendly, out-going, and passionately communicative people who love to talk.
Customer service associates should be able to discover through customer interaction what the customer's needs are and which of our products would satisfy that need, thereby matching customer to product to make the sale. The customer service associate will also take note of customer feedback on products and services and relay that information to management for product and process improvement purposes.
We are looking for someone who is good at problem solving and troubleshooting, who can tackle problems as they arise and keep things running smoothly. A customer service associate should also be able to learn and memorize product information to better assist customers and answer their questions, and be able to seek out answers & information they are unfamiliar with through the proper channels. The target is to ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries and maximize sales while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide amazing customer service, both in-person and on the phone
- Greet every customer in a friendly manner
- Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
- Build a working base of knowledge of our products and services to improve customer service effectiveness
- Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools
- Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives
- Pick, pack, and process web sales for shipping to customers
- Cleaning and maintaining the store to appropriate standards
- Store stocking/merchandising
- Go the extra mile to engage with customers
- Ring up customer transactions on the cash register; maintain accuracy of cash till and safe
- Other duties as directed by management
Skills
- Previous experience in retail/customer service positions preferred
- Cash handling experience is a plus
- Ability to answer phones in a courteous and professional manner and handle customer service calls
- Basic computer skills (using a web browser, word processing software, filling out online forms, printing labels, data entry, etc.) are a necessity
- Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
