We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Master Scheduler for our manufacturing operations M-F from 6AM-3PM and as needed.
The job can be performed onsite at 1 of 3 plant locations nationally. Your options are:

The Master Scheduler manages the production scheduling and all related functions up to and including specified raw materials, using all available scheduling tools and resources to most efficiently utilize multiple plants’ resources consistent with forecasts and customer service objectives. This position is also responsible for meeting working capital and customer service shipping performance targets, while coordinating and working closely with Customer Service and Production to deliver.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop production plans to meet customer demand and working capital targets while maximizing machine uptime
- Proactively seek out opportunities to reduce cost and increase machine uptime
- Work hand in hand with operations to increase throughput
- Daily, weekly, monthly, review of existing and future production planning and budgetary planning preparations
- Schedule machine time based on a delivery schedule with a focus on a reduction of raw and finished goods while still hitting customer expectations
- Review monthly sales forecast projections
- Maintain master production planning data to best utilize our planning system
- Develop and optimize manufacturing work schedules
- Ensure that schedules support daily on time shipping performance
- Working with the customer service department, ensure that production schedules are meeting both our manufacturing and customer service requirements to properly communicate availability dates
- Participate in daily production meetings
- Monitor plant finished goods inventory levels to ensure they meet all working capital requirements
- Manage production capacity constraints and alert necessary team members to issues
- Provide ad hoc data analysis and reporting to the business as needed
- Help to change or establish the most effective planning software system
- Responsible for reporting issues related to Food Packaging safety or quality
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years transferable work-related experience in Master Scheduling or production planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Career showing progressive Master Scheduling/Production planning experience and success in manufacturing companies with progressive and contemporary practices. Strong experience in scheduling to reduce costs.
- Computer experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer; experience with payroll and HRIS software programs preferred.
- Proven analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
- Degree: Four-year Undergraduate Degree required in Logistics, Engineering, or Management Information Systems; Graduate degree preferred.
- APICS certification preferred
