SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE: The cleaning technician performs tasks involving traveling a specified weekly route to different client kitchens located in hotels, restaurants, hospitals, universities, colleges and sporting venues. The position will require the operation of a variety of equipment, including fryer filtration machines, vacuums, steamers and floor cleaners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in hot areas of kitchens:
- Performs manual cleaning of fryers and when needed removal of hot cooking oil for waste transport when needed.
- Cleans kitchen equipment as well as kitchen floors and walls.
- Cleans front of the house areas, including tables, chairs, table bases, glass and windows.
- Polishes stainless steel.
- Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
- Performs materials handling and storage.
- Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
- Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
- Brings problems to the attention of the manager or franchise owner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position could lead to a supervisory position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to high heats. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at client job sites. Although the position regularly works in cool kitchen conditions, the direct heat from deep fryers can be intense.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina. Due to the level of physical demand it is important that this individual have superior water and mineral intake management.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full time position. You will have a set route. Nights and weekends a must.
TRAVEL: Travel is strictly from the warehouse to the job site, with most jobs around 15 miles away.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Show proof of valid drivers license with good driving history. The ability to pass a drug test and background check. Must be at least 21 years old.
