InGenesis is currently seeking Surgical Technicians/OR Tech to work with our client in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for circulating the full range of surgical procedures performed in the operating room.
Job Duties
· Function as a sterile member of the surgical team who passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery. After performing the surgical scrub, they don gown and gloves and prepare the sterile setup for the appropriate surgical procedure.
· Proficient at the entire gamut of processing, sterilizing, and packaging surgical instrumentation for use in surgical procedures.
· Able to anticipate the needs of surgeons, pass instruments, provide sterile items in an efficient manner and practice aseptic technique wherever and whenever indicated.
· Perform the role of the circulator (under the direct supervision of a government RN).
· Exercise the universal precautions set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
· Transport patients from hospital units to the OR assuring safe transportation of the patient.
· Screen patients prior to transport to ensure preoperative medications have been given.
· Documents all patient care given and the progress of the patient.
· Performs a vast array of direct patient care procedures.
· Orient and train newly assigned personnel and students.
· Responsible for quality assurance/risk management and responds to breaches of standard procedures which compromise the patient or staff members.
· Assists surgeons with complex or potentially life-threatening procedures.
· Hand instruments to the surgeon during the procedure by anticipating the surgeon's needs and assist with application of dressings.
Minimum Qualifications
· Shall have a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years providing services as a certified Surgical Technologist (also known as OR Tech).
· Shall have and maintain current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or its Successor as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Contract personnel shall have and maintain a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).

- 1st shift: 6:45am - 3:15pm
- 2nd shift: 2:45pm - 11:15pm
- 3rd shift: 11:45pm - 7:15am
- 4th shift: 10:45am - 7:15pm
- 10-hr shift: 6:45am - 5:15pm
- Weekend Day shift: 6:45am - 7:15pm
- Weekend Night shift: 6:45pm - 7:15am
