Georgetown Surgical Center is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Per Diem PACU Nurse. The PACU Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing, in accordance with center policies and procedures
Duties, Responsibilities, Competencies

Assesses patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients.

Evaluates patient's response and intervenes appropriately for optimal outcome.

Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate instructions to patient and family and appropriately answer questions.

Appropriately adapts during rapidly changing pace and manages resources as needed to maintain patient flow.

Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient, in collaboration with each patient, family, and significant other in order to address all identified needs.

Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement the medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.

Evaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient's responses are reassessed in order meet patient and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered.

Maintains uptodate and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, in order to ensure quality care.

Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.

Performs selected duties as delegated by the Administrator/DON or others in authority.

Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.

Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the center, as defined in the scope of service, to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed.

Assumes other duties as assigned.
Education / Licensure / Certification Requirements

Graduate of accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree or higher. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Must possess a current state license as a Registered Nurse.

A minimum of two years nursing experience in Pre-Op/PACU/Phase 2.

ASC Experience preferred. BLS, and ACLS certifications required.
