The Underground Technician will work closely with a Foreman Fitter to learn how to install all types of fire-protecting systems, including pipe systems and valves. The Underground Technician is to show up to work and complete the work outlined by the Foreman. A desired candidate is coachable, and willing to learn the Metro way of working/completing work. Hiring for Phoenix area, as well as east and west side of the valley.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Unload necessary equipment and tools for job from vehicles
- Install and test systems under close guidance/supervision
- Manual labor, digging with shovels in trenches
- Operate machinery safely and effectively
- Completing tasks as directed by Forman in a timely manner
- Utilize project drawings to interpret installation requirement details accurately and entirely
- Thread and groove pipe, cut hanger rods, frequently climb ladders, hang pipe, read blueprints, and keep work area clean
- Complete necessary paperwork in its entirety
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift 50 pounds

- Completing project in its entirety/does not take short-cuts
- Organized, systematic and adherent to deadlines
- Able to work independently and through ambiguous situations
- Unafraid to get dirty
