Job Summary:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a vital role in the implementation of applied behavior analysis (ABA) programs for individuals with developmental or behavioral challenges. Under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), the RBT assists in conducting assessments, implementing behavior intervention plans, and collecting data to track client progress.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans:
- Deliver one-on-one ABA therapy sessions based on individualized behavior intervention plans designed by the BCBA or BCaBA.
2. Data Collection:
- Accurately collect and record behavior data during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform decision-making.
3. Assessment Support:
- Assist in the implementation of functional behavior assessments (FBAs) under the direction of the BCBA or BCaBA.
4. Skill Acquisition:
- Implement skill acquisition programs to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors, communication skills, and daily living skills.
5. Behavior Reduction:
- Implement strategies outlined in behavior intervention plans to reduce challenging behaviors and promote positive alternatives.
6. Parent and Caregiver Training:
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other team members to provide training on ABA principles and techniques for consistent implementation outside of therapy sessions.
7. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress, including session notes, data sheets, and other required records.

8. Communication:
- Communicate effectively with the BCBA or BCaBA to discuss client progress, challenges, and adjustments to intervention plans.
9. Professional Development:
- Pursue ongoing professional development and training to stay informed about the latest ABA practices and procedures.
10. Ethical Practices:
- Adhere to the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts and maintain confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Completion of a 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training program.
- Successful completion of the RBT certification examination.
- Strong understanding of applied behavior analysis principles and methodologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of individuals with behavioral challenges.

- Work settings may include clinics, schools, homes, or community-based programs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on client needs.
