Overview:
Peace Hospital, part of UofL Health, is a private, non-profit behavioral health hospital. One of the largest behavioral health facilities in the nation, Peace Hospital is known for providing care for children, adolescents, adults and senior adults, age 55 and older.
It’s Kosair Charities Children’s Peace Center is the largest and most comprehensive private provider of youth inpatient behavioral health services in the country. The hospital was the nation’s first behavioral health care center to open a retail pharmacist operated, long-acting injection clinic. The clinic was established to help people adhere to prescribed medications for behavioral health conditions, such as substance use and psychotic disorders.
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization specifically focused on behavioral health.
Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by psychiatrists
- Monitor and document patients' progress and response to treatment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kentucky Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date.
- BLS required from American Heart Association.
- Associate Degree from accredited nursing program
- Ability to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training and successful completion during new hire orientation.
