Key Responsibilities include:
Major job functions include:
1. Supports and implements program philosophy, working closely with other personnel to ensure that each treatment interventions are appropriate for the patient.
2. Maintains high quality documentation of all therapy services consistent with facility policies in a timely manner, meeting all deadlines as established by facility policy and procedures.
3. Maintains professional, ethical standards and all legal requirements.
4. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary treatment team to provide patient-centered care.
5. Assesses patients’ needs regularly and assists in the development and updating of the Master Treatment plan.
6. Facilities group activity therapy to assigned patients.
7. Assists team with planning and executing special events for patients.
8. Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific physical, motor, cognitive, language and social/personality developments. Utilizing development levels within the application of activity therapy.
9. Adheres to all safety policies and safe work practice.
10. Attends hospital safety trainings.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Recreational Therapist: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and eligible to sit for national exam conducted through the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
Art Therapist: Minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited university and working towards registration with the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB).
Music Therapist: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and eligible to sit for national exam conducted through the Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT).
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION:
Must be licensed CTRS, LPATA, or LPAT are types of licensure required for Art or Activities Therapist
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: One to three years inpatient behavioral health work
