Registered Nurse (RN)
RN Job Description
- Pre-admission assessment as requested by administrator.
- Nursing assessment and service plan review upon admission.
- Review of history and physical.
- Admitting new residents
- Make any necessary service plan change recommendations to the care manager.
- Assisting physicians during rounds of residents’ rooms
- Assigning and delegating duties to med tech staff
- Monitoring resident care and supervising other med tech staff
- Performing ongoing assessments of residents’ physical and mental health
- Explaining procedures and treatment protocols to residents and their families
- Planning and managing patient care according to each patient’s needs
- Interviewing patients and recording their medical history
- Obtaining patient vital signs
- Administering injections of medications
- Schedule any ongoing nursing treatments or shots.
- Establish parameters for all PRN narcotics, psychotropic’s, anti-psychotics, pain mediation and etc.
- Verifying that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately
- Observing and recording patients’ conditions and reactions to medications and treatments
- Changing bandages, wound dressings, and catheters
- Setting up exercise programs for patients
- Verifying patients are taking the correct dosages of medications
- Remaining on-call for patients who have healthcare emergencies
- Conduct a safety evaluation for any supportive devices with restraining qualities or additional safety devices requiring evaluation.
