Department Summary:

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
As a 5G ORAN Field Operations Manager, you will manage the Field Engineers out in the field keeping our facilities and equipment in top form by maintaining multiple locations in your assigned area. Your team will be responsible for post-construction checks, Single Site verification, commissioning, site acceptance, testing, and maintaining cell sites and edge and local data center installations. Regular maintenance, keeping inventories, doing audits. You will also be evaluating our network coverage and finding ways to make it even better.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

Support and deploy CU-CP, CU-UP, and DU Network Functions using VMWare Telco Cloud Automation Platform, running tests and troubleshooting as needed.

Configure CSR and perform cabinet inspections to ensure post-construction integrity.

Validate breaker placement, GPS and backhaul fiber connections, power, and site configurations for commissioning.

Verify antenna positions, azimuths, tilts, and conduct single-site verification for VSWR/PIM/RET issues using EXFO tool.

Ensure correct fiber connections at site and LDC, testing with EXFO, OTDR, and Fiberscope tools; check for faulty radios.

Collaborate with RF, construction, microwave, and transport experts to troubleshoot and optimize network performance during construction, commissioning, and post-launch.
Skills, Experience and Requirements:
As a successful Field Operations Manager, you will have:
Education and Experience:

Technical degree in Electronics/Telecommunications or equivalent military/industry experience

10+ years in Wireless Network Operations with a focus on wireless infrastructure and large-scale programs
-
5+ years in management roles overseeing multiple groups and departments
-
3-5 years of recent telecommunications experience, including RAN and 4G LTE cell site troubleshooting and testing
Skills and Qualifications:

Expertise in PIM/VSWR/MIMO/RET, fiber, and LTE remote radio heads

Experience with Lucent, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, or Ericsson base station equipment

Proficient in directing projects, monitoring performance, and providing feedback

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous environment while building a greenfield 5G network

Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and work nonstandard hours

Strong interpersonal, verbal communication skills, and executive presence

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
