Innovative services offered across Chicagoland and Central Illinois include community living options, novel day programs, behavioral health services, employment programs, respite for families, and foster care for children with disabilities.
Perform functions to plan, coordinate, administer and manage community living programs. Direct and develop staff and physical sites in accordance with funding requirements and agency objectives. This position will involve considerable work in start-up of program in the Chicagoland area as well as other areas of the state. Serves as a member of agency’s Senior Leadership Team.
This position will involve travel as the program expands to other regions of Illinois. Experience in the IDD field as well as community residential services is essential for this role.
Essential Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain community living services activities to ensure member and agency needs are met.

Develop division budget and implement controls to ensure that planned expenses adhere to budget.

Support recruitment and transition of program participants from State Operated Developmental Centers, Independent Service Coordination Agencies and other sources.

Visit sites and follow up as necessary to ensure physical plants are well maintained.

Direct the implementation of Community Living programs to ensure that established controls, accreditation standards, funding source compliance and governmental agency rules and regulations are maintained.

Collaborate with CDS leadership to provide day services to members that focuses on choice, inclusion and independence.

Supervise and coordinate member recruitment activities in accordance with agency plans and objectives.

Establish Agency and Community Living Services objectives, standards and policies.

Provide direction, establish and evaluate staff goals and implement training programs to meet individual and group development needs.

Establish and implement controls and management reporting and evaluation systems to ensure that planned program goals are achieved.

Maintain effective relationships with funding and regulatory agencies.

Manage the implementation of new programs to ensure that monies are allocated as prescribed and stated objectives are achieved.

Identify ways in which Community Living can improve its services

Explore, develop, and propose new residential development opportunities.

Coach Administrators and help build their leadership skills.

Participate in state-wide organizations and associations to keep abreast of what is happening in the field.
Other Responsibilities

Responsible for directing the work activities of community living services employees through staff supervisors.

Hire, train, develop and assist employees, establish performance standards, evaluate performance, enforce agency rules, maintain morale, handle employee grievances and recommend changes in employee status.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education, Skill, And Experience

Master’s degree in human services or related field and/or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of ten years of supervisory experience in the field of developmental disabilities.

Must have experience in the IDD field.

Must have experience in Community Residential Services.

Complete all required background checks.
