ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
Accountable for the development of Hilite International’s manufacturing capabilities and for assuring proper manufacturing processing of components and finished assemblies in order to obtain maximum productivity and desired quality.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
At least 4 years in engineering (design) in an injection molding or related industry, including experience using computer aided design systems. Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering or other Technical Engineering. Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in high-volume Injection Molding. Comprehensive knowledge of Scientific Injection Molding process and studies (Gate Seal, Flow, Cooling Time, etc.).Proven ability to troubleshoot issues using disciplined root cause analysis tools
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position is responsible to work effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers. Preliminarily working with Manufacturing, Product Design, Quality, Purchasing, equipment suppliers, component suppliers and end users to ensure products are manufactured with the most cost-effective methods at the highest quality.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Monitor and perform process development to assure product quality, timely deliveries, continuing cost effectiveness and profitability.
2. Develop and execute new manufacturing plans and methods, process and tool engineering, and maintenance techniques to maximize productivity, lower costs, and provide high quality.
3. Determine capital equipment needs, recommending purchase of proper equipment, and supervising installation and debugging of equipment to ensure on-time delivery of cost effective equipment meeting specification and capability requirements.
4. Evaluate new product designs, working closely with Product Engineering, to insure optimum manufacturing capabilities utilizing Continuous Improvement and designs for manufacturability.
5. Validate production processes using statistical methods to provide world class manufacturing capabilities and maximum effectiveness of equipment.
6. Prepare and present project reports, test reports, status and monthly activity reports, and manufacturing studies to keep supervisor fully aware of activities and progress.
7. Create process documentation, operational work instructions and other supporting documentation as required to support Hilite’s operations and the customers’ needs.
8. Establish and maintain engineering standards, records and systems to allow proper design, improvement, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
9. Interface with customer engineering departments to ensure that Hilite’s products and processes exceed customer requirements.
10. Support and input information for PPAP requirements as required for changes and launches.
11. Responsible for estimating, mold design review, mold build, material recommendations, and part approval management.
12. Spearhead standardization efforts for molding process limits through data analysis, minimizing defective products.
13. Conduct process improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, material conversion, and statistical capability enhancements.
14. Assess requirements for primary and secondary plastics processing machinery and equipment, guiding purchases.
15. Support new injection mold development through participation in vendor design proposals and mold trials.
16. Tooling and part design input and expertise in regards to plastic components/prints.
17. Perform other duties as assigned or required by Management.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
