MUST BE A REGISTERED or CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (MUST be CMA/RMA to apply). We are looking for someone with cardiology or vascular experience.
This person is a self-motivated individual that will be responsible for performing back-office clinical duties and various non-invasive cardiac patient care in an outpatient setting. Ability to triage patient needs, acquire prior authorization for specialty medications, and manage a high volume of patient phone calls and clinic is a must. Position is for a very busy leading cardiovascular physician practice with a focus on heart failure and amyloidosis as well as interventional cardiology. This position will be a FULL-TIME position in which requires a working knowledge of the cardiovascular system.
Job Duties:
Patient rooming, vital signs, focused CV patient assessment, accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (GEMMS), perform EKGs, check blood pressure and heart rate, strong verbal communication skills, other duties as assigned. High call volumes and ability to triage patients is needed. Obtain prior authorizations (PA) for various testing (nuclear, echo, and heart catheterizations, etc.) as well as PA for specialty medications as needed. Will work directly for one cardiologist in partnership with another RMA to complete all tasks assigned by the physician.
Qualifications:
MUST BE A REGISTERED or CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one (1) year clinic or hospital experience performing EKGs and patient care experience. Proficient in medical terminology related to cardiology. Must be able to think critically and pay attention to detail. Multi-tasking and strong organization are key attributes needed for the candidate.
Position is Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5pm (may vary)
