DC Engineering is seeking an experienced Retail Controls Engineer to join our Controls team in Bentonville, Arkansas.
The Retail Controls Engineering Lead will provide day-to-day technical and people leadership for a team of experienced retail controls engineers and designers. Responsibilities will include assigning the team workload and balancing resources to ensure successful completion of projects on schedule and on budget.
The ideal candidate should have PE license, 5+ years of progressive experience in the areas of leadership, people management and project management. This role will also require effective communication and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment to meet project deadlines.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Controls engineering/design including direct interaction with clients to develop construction documents.
- Work as a team with drafters, designers, engineers, and systems integrators to develop and implement projects successfully
- Develop controls engineering procedures, controls engineering standards, and controls specifications as needed to gain efficiency and proper quality control.
- Creating estimates, budgets and schedules for projects
- Serve as a technical expert in the controls department
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Mentor other personnel within the controls department to assist them in developing their controls expertise.
- Assigns tasks and directs junior engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Prepare proposals to provide professional services including engineering and/or system integration.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
- Professional Engineer License (preferable)
- 5+ years of experience
- People Management/Mentoring/Leadership experience and ability to manage 5 or more people
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment to complete projects
- Able to interact with other staff and clients with a professional, cooperative and helpful attitude
- Proficiency using computers, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
- ACAD and/or Revit experience a plus
- Ability and willingness to learn multiple systems, software and processes
- Significant experience with Emerson, Carel, Danfoss Honeywell/Novar control platforms
