Primary responsibilities include:
- Helping develop a talented and committed volunteer leadership, by coordinating activities related to the association’s governance (elections, onboarding and offboarding of association’s volunteer leaders, board meeting logistics, etc.)
- Ensuring smooth and efficient office operations and a healthy team culture by providing essential communications to the team regarding the building, office activities, visitors, team birthdays and anniversaries; organizing annual staff retreat and other staff activities.
- Serving as a key contact to operational vendors, organizing and processing incoming and outgoing mail, anticipating supply needs, etc.
- Supporting the effort to create a pipeline of talent for “green” careers by assisting our partner organization, Seed Your Future, with special projects and initiatives.
- Helping ensure the success of SAF initiatives by providing support to other departments as needed on a wide range of projects, including annual association awards, accounting, marketing and communications, meetings and events and membership projects.
- Supporting the CEO (day to day meetings and travel schedule, communications with members, board and executive committee, etc.).
- Increasing member and non-member engagement by serving as “greeter in chief” on phones, in office and on the “LiveChat” team on safnow.org.
Required qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience in administrative and/or project coordination roles.
- Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint (or Keynote), Adobe; Dropbox, etc.
- Willingness and ability to learn new systems and implement new technological solutions into everyday processes.
- Visually oriented – able to format raw information into easy to read presentations and documents.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage and follow through on multiple projects and assignments.
- Ability to work collaboratively, in a fast-paced team environment as well as independently with minimal direction.
- Familiarity with Macs, WordPress, Higher Logic and membership databases a plus.
Salary: Based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, this position will receive a salary between $50,000 - $60,000.
