Job Summary: The Research Assistant will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of our academic nonprofit organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved with senior leadership in the academic nonprofit sector. The ideal candidate is someone who is enthusiastic about academic and nonprofit research work, has basic knowledge of databases or has an interest in learning it, is highly organized, and is ready to contribute to a meaningful cause. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
Research Support
- Conduct thorough research on various topics, including industry trends and market analysis to support program development, grant writing, and strategic planning.
- Summarize research findings into concise reports for decision-making purposes.
- Clean up and transform records in the database.
- Network with folks in the social mobility academic space.
Networking:
- Assist in building and maintaining a strong network in the academic research space.
- Identify networking opportunities and connect with relevant professionals to enhance the organization's presence.
- Assist in creating and implementing strategies to expand the online presence of the organization.
- Network with community leaders and partners to build relationships and support for the organization.
Qualifications:
- Must speak Spanish and English.
- A freshman or sophomore in college is a plus.
- Has basic conceptual knowledge of how data is stored in a database (e.g. primary keys) or has an interest in learning it.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in a research assistant role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation is a plus.
- Strong research skills and the ability to gather and synthesize information are a plus.
- Networking skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with community leaders and partners are a plus.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
