The Legal Intake Specialist will primarily focus on the client intake process for a leading Texas personal injury law firm – while also providing a wide range of pre-litigation support on personal injury case files (typically handled by a “Legal Assistant” or “Case Manager”). This role will work closely with Firm Management to identify all viable claims, make recommendations on the follow-up for each, and then pursue these all the way through to sign-up.

Essential Functions
- Screening of new potential clients across the entire spectrum of single event personal injury matters, as well as mass torts (e.g. dangerous drugs, defective medical devices) and beyond
- Regular interaction with firm management on handling decisions
- Diligent, system-based follow-through on all wanted intakes
- Maintenance and enhancement of all data entered/saved to our case management software and drives
- Regular reporting (including analysis and follow-up) on intake
- New client sign-ups across all channels (in-person, email, text), in-office and remote, both during business hours and after hours
- Intake or pre-litigation investigation work, including crash reports, background checks, workers’ compensation verification, OSHA investigations, etc.
- A full range of pre-litigation case management (e.g. medical and billing records; helping with medical treatment; inbound and outbound correspondence with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers; etc.)
- Resolving client questions, concerns, and other escalated issues – by phone and in person
- Supporting after-hours intake
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Ensuring complete compliance at all times with all ethical and legal obligations
- Additional projects, as assigned
Requirements/Competencies
- Bilingual in Spanish (both spoken and written)
- Excellent customer service and sales skills, with the ability to consistently project confidence, empathy, and energy on the phone
- Ability to quickly relate what differentiates our firm and our service
- High emotional intelligence
- Excellent writing skills
- Must have valid driver license with good driving record
- At least 3 professional references that can speak to your performance in a similar environment
- Ability and willingness to work 45+ hours per week in the office + and also be on call for after-hours support
- Experience working on various aspects of single event personal injury cases, e.g. medical treatment/records work, investigation work, day-to-day “case management”, pre-lit paralegal work
- Top-notch written work product – even in fast-paced, high volume environment

Preferred, but not required:
- 4-year college degree, along with strong academic track record evidenced by GPA, awards/honors, extracurricular activities, etc.
- You are already based here in Houston
- Your past personal injury experience includes being on-call for after-hours intake

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 43 – 50 per week
