JobForce is currently seeking Welder/Fitters for the Idler Department. The Welder/Fitter in the Idler Department is responsible for fitting and welding idlers. This role involves extensive use of welding equipment and fitting tools. The ideal candidate should be able to read and interpret engineered prints/drawings. Additionally, they must currently possess or be able to attain the required AWS welding certification within the first 6 months of employment. Ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining product quality are key responsibilities for this position.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, an individual must:
- Perform essential duties satisfactorily.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to deliver excellent customer service.
- Understand Client products and their mechanical applications.
- Read a tape measure accurately (within 1/16 of an inch) and interpret engineered drawings.
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Stand continuously for an 8-hour shift (with overtime as required by the company).
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibit trustworthiness, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
- Manage tasks independently while collaborating as a team player.
- Be punctual and maintain regular attendance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Welder/Fitter will:
- Use welders and machinery associated with the assigned job task.
- Establish effective communication with supervisors, engineers, and manufacturing personnel.
- Gain knowledge of Client products and their mechanical applications.
- Read and interpret engineered drawings.
- Adhere to safety procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Successfully complete post-hiring physical and drug screening.
- Participate in background checks, DMV checks, and drug and alcohol screenings as required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to:
- Moving mechanical parts
- High precarious places
- Extreme heat and cold
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
The employee must:
- Stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Have specific vision abilities (close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus).
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Training, Certifications, Licenses
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Welding certification (required)
- Satisfactory completion of company forklift certification
- Background, DMV, and drug and alcohol screenings may be conducted as a condition of employment and continued employment.
