ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine and advanced tasks replacing target components, wiring circuits, and complex repair functions
- Apply basic and some advanced technical knowledge and troubleshooting procedures to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers manuals or similar documents; applies skills in restoring equipment operations during instrumentation
- Manipulate software platforms to include Windows, Anti-Virus, and other proprietary solutions as required
- Setup wireless network and manipulate a peer-to-peer and client/server network
- Store, consume, and account for all issued parts and materials to support range maintenance operations
- Capture and record accurate maintenance history ensuring unique corrective measures for work orders and repair are annotated into AWARE
- Share maintenance issues and general operations updates with the Team Lead and other senior technicians
- May interface with Army or other military customer working at Command and Control (C2) facilities; contact company, government, and outside agencies to resolve non-standard maintenance issues; and provide technical advice and advanced troubleshooting procedures within established guidelines and company responsibilities
- Safely operates company vehicle; navigates established range roads and trails to specific target locations using basic navigation techniques with map/compass
- Install and operate targets in pits, buildings, and bunkers. Be prepared to fabricate target frames using power tools by fitting, gluing, nailing, bolting, and screwing sections according to drawings and specifications
- Repair target lifters no longer covered under warranty
- Setup power tool saws, drill presses, etc. for various cutting, shaping, and drilling
- Measure and cut material to size, shape and dimension required
- Fit and nail or glue pieces into place according to drawings and specification provided by unit and/or supervisor
- Select materials required and transport them to worksite or shop
- Install batteries, hostile fire simulators, and other types of simulator devices in the vicinity of target arrays, i.e., burn-barrels, Battlefield Effects Simulator (BES), trip flares, artillery fire simulators, HC smoke grenades, smoke pots, and simulated Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)/booby traps
- Install and operate targets on 4G LTE or Wi-Fi network
- Perform welding functions as necessary
- Cut brush, tree limbs, trees, and grass to maintain work area
- Perform preventative maintenance on target lifters, power tools, and equipment
- Operate Global Positioning System (GPS), Night Optical Devices (NOD) when necessary, and radio communication systems
- Safeguard all assigned equipment issued against loss, theft, and damage
- May be assigned task to support military Rotational Training Units MILES install / de-install and instrumentation
- Support quality / ISO, security, and safety training programs
- Ensures safety procedures are adhered to by all personnel
- This position may require travel to other installations and other ATMP locations throughout Germany or Europe
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-3 years’ experience
- Demonstrate ability in international wiring standard and be capable of terminating varied cabling, installing electronic switches, and related equipment installation or modification
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid USAREUR driver’s license and On-Post driving privileges
- Must be able to obtain a valid Blue Card, VISA/Work Permit as required by German Law
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Must be able to mimic (wearing the same uniform and safety equipment as) the firing unit in order to blend in and allow for a sterile battlefield environment
- Must be a High School Graduate or have a GED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES:
- Experience with Digital Range training
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Electronic Technician certification
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
