$20.00/hour + $5.00/hour shift premium = $25/hour
JOST INTERNATIONAL IS HIRING A RECEIVING ASSOCIATE FOR A POSITION IN GRAND HAVEN, MICHIGAN
JOST International belongs to the JOST World family headquartered in Neu Isenberg Germany. Our history began on January 1, 1981 in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Michigan location is both the North America corporate headquarters and the landing gear and king pin manufacturing plant. JOST sells to semi-truck and trailer builders and we currently hold over 70% market share worldwide in the heavy-duty truck Landing Gear industry.
RECEIVING ASSOCIATE INTRODUCTION:
This position reports to the SAP Warehouse Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities. Performs all duties related to incoming of goods and materials at the Griffin Street Plant. This position is responsible to verify that all incoming shipments are properly labeled, will print tags as needed, will receive in goods with a scan gun and log accurately in system and verify inbound product accuracy. As needed, will verify outbound materials and products are correct and properly labeled, and/or confirm to packing slip or other documentation.
RECEIVING ASSOCIATE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:
- General warehouse duties including receiving shipments
- Prepare transfer sheets as needed by production (Foam, Skids, etc.)
- Process inbound loads using SAP/DSSI in computer as well as scanner.
- Inspection checks of all inbound and outgoing parts for quality, labeling and packaging as per the packing slip (Physical/Weight)
- Signs off inbound and outgoing parts/materials and inspection of incoming parts/materials from vendors for visible damage.
- Inventory Counts as needed.
- Loading shuttles with finished goods, subcontracting loads, empties.
- Communication with Quality for checks, assembly, and with management for safety issues.
- All 5S and required house-keeping duties including but not limited to; sweeping, cleaning, yard clean up, keeping racks, bins and warehouse floor organized and safe.
- Arrange Supplier Returns
- Create Outbound Paperwork (Subcontracting)
- Small Package Alert/Delivery
- Managing Inventory Locations, Min/Max, Maintain (Labeling/Org/etc., FIFO)
- Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
RECEIVING ASSOCIATE REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-2 years previous shipping and receiving experience.
- Solid working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to learn and understand other software.
- Working Knowledge of SAP, ERP system preferred.
- Completion of High School education or GED.
- Basic math skills as defined by company standards.
- Able to read and write legible as defined by company standards.
- Ability to obtain and keep a forklift license.
- Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of JOST company safety rules and procedures, quality process and procedures and JOST Basic Processes.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Highly dependable, motivated, and self-driven with excellent attendance.
- High level of attention to detail is a must.
- Able to use all job-related equipment, devices, and tools correctly and safely.
RECEIVING ASSOCIATE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is generally performed in a production plant warehouse setting.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift or move objects of 51 pounds or less with or without assistance.
