Summary:
Engineer II / Engineer III - Responsible for designing and developing a product/product family. Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. Product Engineers are responsible to coordinate all aspects of APQP. Product Engineers have stop and restart work authority.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
Prepares quotations for labor, tooling and equipment to support new product and prototypes as required utilizing the principles of concurrent engineering.
Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
Responsible for the development of engineering masters/manufacturing instructions, testing and evaluation.
Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
Leads APQP activities to include PPAP process and GD&T interpretation.
Primary contact with customers to respond to product related questions and/or issues.
Responsible for monitoring company performance based on established customer expectations relative to quality and service.
Supports supplier development by communicating expectations and monitoring performance based on quality standards.
Provides guidance and mentorship as needed within Engineering department.

Ability to improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
Must have knowledge of computers, manufacturing processes, design for manufacturing and assembly practices, tools and fixturing.
Must have very strong project management skills with the ability to lead and coordinate multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Must have excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, customers and associates.
Demonstrated team leadership ability.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor degree preferred, in engineering or related field and 4-6 years of experience in the field and/or any appropriate combination of education and experience. CAD design and APQP experience is also preferred. Must have strong working knowledge of PPAP process and GD&T interpretation.
Ideal candidate would have:
- Experience in manufacturing processes and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency
- Previous experience in die cast and/or plastic commodities
- A strong customer focus
- Ability to independently handle multiple projects simultaneously
- A bachelor degree in engineering and minimum of 5 years of experience
- Ability to problem solve, develop and execute plans.

Pay: $79,000.00 - $117,000.00 per year
