Job Description
Patient Centered Services LLC is seeking experienced and dedicated Board-Certified Cardiac Perfusionists to join our team. The contractor will provide a minimum of two on-site Board-Certified Cardiac Perfusionists, including on-call services. Board eligibility is not accepted. The contract perfusionists shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience and be expected to operate the cardiopulmonary bypass machine for cardiac cases any day they are onsite. The contract perfusionists will be expected to work no less than eight (8) hours when scheduled and must stay until the completion of the open-heart case for the day. For on-call services, the contractor is to respond within an hour of request and provide a board-certified perfusionist with a need of eight (8) hours or less. Perfusionists shall be onsite and available during all scheduled OR hours and within 30 minutes of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machine during cardiac surgeries, ensuring the patient's circulatory and respiratory functions are maintained.
- Monitor and manage the patient’s physiological parameters, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygenation levels, during surgery.
- Prepare and operate various perfusion-related equipment, including heart-lung machines, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and ventricular assist devices.
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during cardiac procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of perfusion activities and patient data, ensuring accurate documentation in the medical records system.
- Participate in preoperative planning and postoperative care as necessary, providing expert input on perfusion-related matters.
- Respond promptly to on-call requests within an hour, ensuring readiness to perform perfusion services as needed.

Minimum of 5 years of experience operating a cardiopulmonary bypass machine.
- Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience working with Veterans Affairs (VA) patients.
- Knowledge of the VA electronic medical records system (CPRS).
