Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.
FAMILY CARE MONITOR
(Full Time, Part Time)
The position of family care monitor is unique to Project L.I.F.E. Family care monitors are security guards who provide reception, maintenance and support the families residing at the shelter.
1. Reception
a. Welcome onsite visitors, determine the nature of business, and announce visitors to appropriate personnel
b. Check ID’s of all outside visitors, and the building and record them in the daily security log
c. Contact the executive director and the case managers, and the accountant to announce visitors.
d. Operate the telephone system to answer incoming calls
e. Direct calls to appropriate personnel
f. Record and log all residents required to sign in/out of the facility
g. Record and log all residents’ activities, taking out trash, smoking in designated area, case manager visits, backyard activities etc.
h. Record and track all staff activities during the day
i. Record all CCTV surveillance/ patrols/parking lot/etc.
2. Attend all job-related training classes when scheduled;
3. Rotate day, evening and night shifts at regular intervals and work some shifts on some weekends
4. Be at his/her work station at the beginning of an assigned shift and remain there until replaced.
5. Monitor the facility’s interior and exterior premises and take appropriate action to prevent or respond to safety and security risks.
6. Complete regular facility safety patrols.
7. Maintain log of facility activities and provide written reports of rule violations and major incidents.
8. Maintain a census of who is in the building at all times and accurately report the same at shift change.
9. Know and execute all emergency procedures with no error that could put residents, staff or visitors at risk.
10. Notify the Director, or their designee, of all contact with law enforcement, fire, and/or emergency personnel. Notify a case manager or their designee of any and all unusual situations that occur on his/her shift, including physical or verbal fights, threats, or harassment.
11. Prepare a written incident report of the above and record a summary in the FCM Log.
2. Janitor Duties
· Maintain and keep the FCM security booth clean at all times
· Sweep and mop the lobby area when the janitor is off duty
· Ensure that all residents pick up after themselves and children,
· Mop and clean all spillage that occurs during times when the maintenance staff are not in the building
· Handle snow removal/salt the areas where resident walk when the maintenance team is off premises/ as needed
3. Security Guard
· Maintain computerized Family Care Monitor’s Log showing the time and a summary of every significant occurrence on the shift, plus the Daily School Departure and Return List for resident children, and the daily census for Adults.
· Maintain and record all goings and comings of children between ages 12-14
· Perform other duties as assigned during your shift.
· Protect the confidentiality of residents and maintain professional boundaries at all times.

2. New York State Licensed Security Guard. A MUST
3. Accepts as conditions of employment the requirements to rotate regularly through all three shifts, and provide weekend coverage as scheduled.
4. High school diploma.
5. Microsoft Word –A MUST
8. First aid/CPR certificate A MUST
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
