You'll serve as an Industrial Equipment Mechanic in the PRODUCTION DIVISION, NAVFAC MIDLANT, NSA HAMPTON ROADS.

RESPONSIBLITIES
- You will review written specifications (e.g., schematics, technical orders) to determine industrial equipment maintenance project requirements.
- You will use test equipment and measuring devices (e.g., alignment scopes, verniers, micrometers, bearing bridge gauges, flow meters, hydrostatic testers, vibration analyzers) to determine extent of repairs required.
- You will plan and lay out nonproduction industrial plant machinery, equipment, or systems for installation.
- You will disassemble industrial equipment to identify excessive wear and deterioration.

QUALIFICATIONS
1) Troubleshoot industrial plant machinery to determine the nature and extent of repairs necessary;
2) Make needed repairs by replacing, reworking or refinishing worn or damage parts and components; disassemble and repair general industrial plant machinery, equipment and systems such as cranes, air compressors, overhead door systems, pneumatic tube systems, pumps, and sliding wall systems; and
3) Skill in setting up and operating machine tools such as small lathes, milling machines, drill presses and precision grinders to manufacture component parts or re-machine existing parts such as bushings, bearings, seals, couplings, and pistons.
4) Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical/ electronic and other non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of mechanical systems is required.
5) Interpret and apply technical manuals, shop directives, multi-view blueprints, and other documents.
