Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician with expertise in operating lathe and milling machines to join our team. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical systems and equipment in our facility.
Responsibilities:
- Operate lathe and milling machines to produce emergency machine parts to maintain production equipment operating.
- Disassemble, inspect and evaluate pneumatic cylinders to determine the extent of repair needed.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn part, such as seals, rods, pistons, and cylinders, using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Assemble cylinders, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and functionality of all components.
- Document all repair activities, including parts used, labor hours and testing results in accordance with company procedures.
- Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment to ensure proper alignment, speed, and feed of materials.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical issues with lathe and milling machines and implement appropriate repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and create maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures and breakdowns.
- Install, set up, and calibrate new machinery and equipment.
- Able to handle assigned work order from supervisor.
- Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot mechanical problems and develop effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts inventory, work orders, and equipment history.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role, with specific expertise in operating and maintaining lathe and milling machines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with a variety of machinery and equipment used in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and protocols at all times.
