Job Title: Solar Salesperson

Overview:
The responsibility of the Solar Salesperson at Power Zone Equipment is to execute the sales and a portion of the marketing for the solar division (SolarSet.com).
Primary Functions of this Position:
· Manage website inquiries and keep contact with each prospective customer.
· Cold call and perform proactive sales work to potential customers (homeowners, installers, dealers, other manufacturers, housing builders, etc.)
· Set up long term accounts with dealers and manage the agreements, commissions, etc. for each account.
· Manage the social media accounts for SolarSet. This includes posting information, being involved with online conversations and forums, tracking hits on the accounts, etc.
· Assisting the internet marketing team and web developer with information and content.
· Performing bi-weekly tests on the website, contact email, contact phone number, etc. to ensure the communication lines are working correctly.
· Managing certain marketing efforts such as demonstration units, paper advertisements, billboards, etc (most of SolarSet’s marketing is done online by the marketing team).
· Sizing systems for potential customers. This includes basic system design and engineering.
· Visiting potential customers, locally as well as long distance.
· Keep a current knowledge of all rebate and incentive programs available to our customers. These programs change by county, power company, state and country.
· Assist the customer in working through the required paperwork for the rebate and incentive programs.
· Performing site visits and running basic soil tests and sun path calculations.
· Responding to all walk-in potential solar customers.
· When applicable, coordinate the shipping/delivery, anchoring and overall installation of the system.
· When applicable, perform basic startup programming on the inverter(s) after installation is complete.
· Reporting solar sales progress at sales meeting.
· Calculate the commission to be paid on each sale and send to accounting and management for review and approval.
Requirements:
· Be willing to work consistent hours (start and end times to be determined) and available via phone call when absent.
· Be available throughout the weekend and evenings for solar related sales calls. (Many of SolarSet’s customers are homeowners and some prefer to call outside of business hours.)
· Have a basic knowledge about electricity and electrical components.
· Have professional PR skills in regards to dealing with customers.
· Be profit driven and able to find the best balance between profitability and customer satisfaction.
· Be goal oriented and able to estimate reasonable sales and revenue goals.
· Have basic computer skills.
· Be willing to travel, including public transportation and air travel.
Other Responsibilities:
The primary functions and requirements listed above are the minimum requirements of the Solar Salesperson and not all inclusive to what may be required. At times, assistance will be needed in other departments. Power Zone is a small company and requires each of it employees to move around and assist where needed. Every employee must be flexible and able to accept tasks that are not on his or her job description. These requirements are generally short term and temporary but occasionally extend to longer periods in the case of an extended market down turn, position vacancy, cross training, etc
Optional Valued Skills:
Although the following skills are not required, they will be valued and utilized in the Solar Salesperson position:
· Be able to speak Spanish
· Have technical knowledge and experience with solar systems in particular.
· Be skilled with Excel spreadsheets
· Possess a passport and able to travel internationally
Compensation:
· Range of $50,000 to $55,000 base salary per year (please see above disclaimer) PLUS
· Range of 1% to 3% commission on profit of personal solar sales PLUS
