Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with physical therapists to implement therapeutic exercise programs and provide manual therapy, specifically aimed at addressing issues related to the alteration of motion segment integrity. Your role will be instrumental in facilitating patients’ recovery and improving their quality of life.
- Manual Therapy and Therapeutic Exercise: Provide direct patient care, including manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises, to improve motion segment integrity and function.
- Patient Evaluation: Assist in the evaluation of patients by conducting interviews, performing physical examinations, and updating therapy histories 3.
- Treatment Implementation: Implement and modify treatment plans under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, based on patient response and progress 3.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on therapeutic regimens, wellness, and health maintenance to ensure successful treatment outcomes.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care services, progress notes, and treatment modifications in patient and department records 1.
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Ensure the therapy area is clean, safe, and well-organized, complying with infection-control policies and protocols 1.
- Compliance: Adhere to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, .
- Professional Development: Stay current with the latest physical therapy practices and technologies through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications / Skills
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Valid state license/certification for a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Experience with manual therapy and therapeutic exercise, particularly related to motion segment integrity.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and educate patients and their families.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Physiological knowledge, health promotion, and maintenance skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple patient care priorities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
