The City of Louisville is looking for a Sustainability Specialist. This position reports to the Sustainability Program Manager within the City Manager’s Office and will be responsible for general coordination and support for a variety of sustainability programs, events and initiatives to achieve the City’s Climate Action Goals and Sustainability Action Plan objectives. The Sustainability Specialist is expected to be available to occasionally manage events and facilitate meetings on the weekends and evenings as needed.
Hiring Range: $69,700 to $81,910
Salary Range: $69,700 to $94,099

Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary physical work requiring ability to lift a maximum of 40 pounds; occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing; frequent hand/eye coordination to operate computer keyboard and office equipment; vision for reading, recording and interpreting information; speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and members of the public.
Work Environment:
The work is performed in an office environment and occasionally out-of-doors. The employee may be exposed to sites where all types of machinery are used. The employee is exposed to traffic, airborne particles, and may work in all type of weather conditions. Noise levels can range from very low to loud. Travel by automobile is required to reach some project sites. Work is generally scheduled for Monday thru Friday with some evening and weekend hours, however, a flexible schedule may be available.
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule working remotely up to 2 or 3 days a week once training is complete. Your supervisor will determine when a hybrid schedule can begin within your first 6 months and depending on the needs of the City.
