The University of California, San Diego (UCSD), Department of Pediatrics (http://www-pediatrics.ucsd.edu), and Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego (RCHSD) (http://www.rchsd.org) are committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are seeking to recruit a Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at UCSD and RCHSD. The Department is interested in renowned leaders who have a commitment to excellence in clinical innovation, teaching, and research.
The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine cares for over 6,000 children admitted to the Rady Children's main and community sites. The Division is the oldest in North America and is the sole provider of hospital medicine services at RCHSD. RCHSD is the only children's hospital serving San Diego, southwest Riverside and Imperial Counties, and surrounding areas with a catchment area of approximately 800,000 children.
The Division Chief will report to the Chair of the Department and work closely with the other Division Chiefs and Vice Chairs in the Department of Pediatrics. The Division Chief will oversee the clinical, research, and educational activities of the Division, lead recruiting efforts, and ensure career mentoring for all faculty and fellows in the Division. The Division Chief will also be expected to support the mission of delivering high-quality care, teaching, and scholarly activities while promoting an environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusivity among faculty, students, and staff.
