Responsible for ensuring equipment uptime by quick in-depth trouble shooting and repair of all equipment failures. Working knowledge of facility. Work directly with machine operators and shift supervisors to resolve mechanical issues that arise during shift. Will be working 1st shift, but may be required to switch shifts for certain projects that need completing, or to cover for another mechanic. Must have electrical experience; job is 80% mechanical and 20% electrical work. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others to accomplish tasks as must!
Detailed Description-
- Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems using schematics and technical drawings.
- Prefer strong electrical knowledge. With prior experience working with electrical components i.e. PLC’s, AC/DC drives, motor starters, controllers, relays and VFD drives.
- Repair equipment, conveyors and other equipment at facility as required.
- Be able to do preventative maintenance on any piece of equipment.
- Must be able to recognize and diagnose any issue that may arise with any piece of equipment, and to know what steps may be needed to correct the problem.
- Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment.
- Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs and any maintenance timely and safely.
- Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices, and safe machine operation.
- Personal protective equipment is to be used where required.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Will be required to be “On Call” when necessary.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to work in hot environment, high places and in confined areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to fill out all reports, log books, and any paper work requested by management.
- Must be competent and skilled in the use of many types of hand tools.
