CULTURE: Teamwork is in our DNA as a department. Our current nursing team consists of 1 RN, a non-nurse manager and coordinator. We collaborate on all things related to the residents in our care and leadership of our team of over 20 CNA's.
FLEXIBILITY: Due to the culture of our department, it is possible to be fairly flexible with schedules. The Nurses and Health & Wellness Manager work together to formulate a schedule that works best. Ideally, this position would work in the community 2 days a week, and take part in the shared call rotation with up to 4 hours of remote work weekly.
LEARNING: Many opportunities to pursue further learning/certifications/training in multiple avenues.
COMMUNICATION: Effective communication among staff and Nurses is key for us to set our priorities and gets done in a timely manner.

Schedule:
We are hoping to hire someone looking to work 10 - 15 hours a week (2 on-site shift of 5 + hours), with a fairly flexible schedule and call rotation. Preferred days of the week are Wednesday, Friday or a weekend day.
Teaching:
We pride ourselves on our training and teaching of future RNs and PAs, with the majority of our caregivers currently attending University or Community College.
Our team is able to do this by allowing flexible schedules and having a high bar for those we hire. We don't have Shower Aides, all caregivers are expected to work as Med Tech or Caregivers on a rotation, everyone does the same job.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurses (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will participate in the development, implementation and modification of the comprehensive plan of care for facility residents.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Has excellent communication skills in order to work with resident, family, and health care team by practicing active listening, rephrasing, probing, and other communication techniques.
2. Has excellent written communication skills in order to create letters, service plans, educational material and memos. Computer knowledge including, the ability to understanding how and when to use electronic health records to input and access information on their patients' symptoms, allergies, medications, lab results and health history,
3. Is willing and able to participate in the requirements of the community’s respiratory protection program, which includes N-95 respirator medical evaluations and fit testing.
4. Acts at all times with honesty and integrity.
5. Uses excellent time management skills.
6. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, consistently, in all interactions with staff, residents and
the public.
7. Is able to be creative and flexible in executing multi-faceted problem solving.
8. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of current geriatric information and practices.
9. Demonstrates an understanding of health-related concepts, issues and problems.
10. Computer knowledge including, the ability to understanding how and when to use electronic health records to input and access information on their patients' symptoms, allergies, medications, lab results and health history. Experience with technology that supports the Health and Wellness function (Excel, Access, Word).
Education and Experience:
- Demonstrates evidence of current geriatric knowledge with work experience.
- Two (2) plus years assisted living experience preferred.
- LPN or RN (current license in good standing).
