Position Summary:
With minimal supervision, the Mechanical Lab Technician leverages their technical and laboratory experience to setup and operate standard and custom test equipment to conduct specimen testing according to specifications, while meeting Safety, Quality, Productivity and other standards.

- Comply with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements and all PCC Cardinal Rules (e.g., Quality and Safety).
- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Interpret customer prints and specifications for testing procedures.
- Select the proper fixturing and testing equipment for testing products.
- Set up and operate standard and custom test equipment including microscopes, Instron type force equipment, vibration, mechanical shock, and other mechanical lab-related test equipment.
- Conduct tests, analyzes data and documents results; participates in test readiness reviews.
- Conduct product evaluation and performance analysis. Establish performance and reliability of the products being tested.
- Demonstrated ability to follow work procedures for every specimen tested; cannot deviate from work standards.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities such as cross-training and testing in other labs.
- Good housekeeping of lab area and equipment, and always a safety-first attitude.
- Troubleshoot and resolve laboratory and test-related problems. Escalate when needed.
- Periodically check and evaluate in-process procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- A technical degree or certification is highly preferred but not required.
- 1+ years of relevant experience in a laboratory.

- Knowledge of PC-based statistical analysis software preferred.
