Major Responsibilities:

Provides support to the physicians and patients by scheduling surgeries/special procedures in a timely efficient manner
1)Checks correctness of information on surgical form.
2)Verifies members’ active status
3)Completes appropriate referral forms
4)Schedules surgery at proper facility
5)Confirms surgery date and facility with patient
6)Schedules pre-op labs and tests, and delivers any special instructions to patient
7)Produces weekly and monthly statistical reports on surgeries scheduled.
8)Notifies PCP regarding date of surgery, abnormal lab tests, etc.
9)Sends/faxes completed PAT packets to surgery facilities.
10)Assists and coordinates other managed care duties/referral management.
1)Communicates effectively with patients, nursing staff, service coordinator and other appropriate staff
2)Maintains patient confidentiality
3)Notifies supervisor of problems, issues, or concerns
Education/Experience Required:

High School diploma
-
2-3 years experience in health care
-
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Computer experience Good communication skills Good organizational skills Can perform basic calculations

CPR certification within 60 days of hire

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
