As a Direct Support Professional with NWFI, you will spend your work days engaging in fun social activities such as: Bowling, Zoo, OMSI, Top Golf, Arcades. While enjoying these activities with our clients, we promote social, communication and life skills.
As a Direct Support Professional you role will include:
- Providing meaningful companionship and personalized care.
- Assisting the client with community inclusion/activities, this includes providing safe transportation.
- Enriching and supporting the life of the individual while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Supporting the client with light household assistance/tasks (Meal Planning, Meal Preparation, Grocery Shopping).
- Assist the client with activities of daily living (Dressing, Grooming, Eating).
- Encouraging independence and self-care.
- Supporting the client during emergency situations should they arise.
- Completing all appropriate documentation about clients progress and any relevant incidents or observations.
Each of our clients have a specific set of goals we assist them with reaching. Examples of these goals are: tipping etiquette at restaurants, socializing with peers, making healthy food choices, reminders to be covid conscious, or transporting to activities/appointments in the community.
Some clients do need assistance with minor home tasks — helping with dishes, cooking a meal together, dropping bags off at BottleDrop, going grocery shopping, etc..
Pay: $23 an hour in addition to your hourly rate, you will be compensated .65 a mile while you are out with your clients. In additional $2 an hour to cover other DSP shifts when they are ill or out of town, or when taking 2 clients out. Any client that needs assistance with toileting and/or bathing or has challenging behaviors will be compensated at $24 an hour.
Reimbursed monthly (amounts depend on how many hours are worked monthly):

Requirements:
- Fully covid 19 vaccinated (or valid exemption)
- 18+ years old
- Ability to pass background check
- Good driving record with reliable car
- Legally allowed to work in the US
- 1 year previous experience in related field
- Smart phone & knowledge on how to operate it.
The hours are flexible, but typically 10am-2pm or 2pm-6pm. We can work with your availability, together choosing the days and amount of hours — anywhere from 10 hours a week up to full time. Please be comfortable commuting within Washington County to go to different client homes and places in the community. We pride ourselves in prioritizing a good match between our clients and DSPs.
