We're not your typical school. We have 13 acres to explore on nature trails and playgrounds! Contract and Salaried position
School Calendar includes paid teacher workdays, two week winter break, spring break, traditional holidays. Paid planning time, personal development (book club etc.)

Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- 2 to 3 year old classroom
- Understanding and promoting the school’s vision, mission, and goals to students, parents, and community.
- Working with the community of administrators, teachers, parents, and students, and board in articulating and maintaining the integrity and scope of the Montessori and Reggio inspired approach.
- Preparing the classroom environment to meet the students’ needs and interests.
- Preparing new materials, provocations, and lessons on a regular basis.
- Strong communication skills to foster a solid team between the lead and the assistant
- Strong communication skills with parents and peers.
- Meeting regularly with students to work with them in assessing their own success and facilitating an individual path of progress.
- Working with students of varying abilities in the classroom.
- Maintain student records through portfolios, reports, and evaluations.
- Participate in field trips.
- Continuing professional development and participating in recommended conferences, training programs, courses, and other areas of professional growth.
- Diaper changing and potty training
- Assist children in toileting, dressing, and personal grooming

Applicants MUST have:
- NC Child Care Lead Certification (or willing to obtain by submitting college transcripts)
- First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain ASAP)
- BA/BS/AAS degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with NCECC or working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education/child development or related degree; including Childcare Credentials 1 & 2
- 12- 24 months of professional teaching experience with preschool aged children
Applicants will be preferred with:
- Previous Montessori or Reggio experience
- Bilingual (Spanish, French, Italian, or German)
- Yoga Teacher Certificate or Training
- Music, Dance, or Art training or specialization
