Job Title: IT Service Desk Field Technician
Salary Range: $52,000-60,000
About the Position
The IT Service Desk Field Technician is customer facing support and is responsible for delivering timely support to users in Evergreen Goodwill’s administrative offices and our stores across our operating region. Support is provided through phone, email, in-person and Microsoft Teams. This role also creates and manages inbound user support requests and escalating support issues as needed within the IT Support Teams.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Responsible for organization-wide support of the Point-of-Sale (POS) hardware and software, PC hardware, general office productivity software, educational software, VDI maintenance, troubleshooting POS and inventory scanning hardware, printers, network, and wireless network issues.
- Responsible for answering and resolving issues as defined in the Service Desk Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), including but not limited to password resets, account creation and management, office printer installations. Adding notes and replying to open incidents in the Service Desk software and escalating issues to the Admin and Business Analyst teams.
- Responds to incoming Service Desk ticket requests for technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware or software applications. Communicating with end users to determine the nature of the questions and troubleshooting problems, walking end users though the problem-solving process, and following up to ensure issues have been resolved and completed with ticket updates.
- Utilizes remote access software to diagnose or gather information in regards to the end users issue; will escalate appropriately.
- Assists with diagnosis and troubleshooting of network connectivity issues.
- Assists in the planning of Evergreen Goodwill’s IT growth and expansion
- Attendance and participation of IT department meetings.
- Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements (Qualifications for the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act)

Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree or Technical Courses with an emphasis in Information Technology preferred; however relevant industry experience may be substituted.
- Minimum Experience: 2+ years of Service Desk support experience, preferably in a mid to large environment.
- 2+ years’ experience and expert knowledge of current Microsoft Operating Systems and Server systems.
- 2 + years’ experience with POS systems and principles.
- Experience working with remote tools such as Bomgar to help and assist off site clients and users.
- Broad experience building, deploying and maintaining workstations on the Microsoft Windows platform, deploying new Windows 10 images for both desktop and laptop builds.
- Knowledgeable in desktop and laptop hardware including building, upgrading, diagnosing, and troubleshooting in a corporate Domain environment.
- Experience with Point of Sale systems, Remote access software, VPN, MCP, MCSA, or MCSE preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
- Valid WA State driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Computer/Technology Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.
Physical Abilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 30-50 pounds and to operate computer systems. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.

Work Environment: Retail store and office environment, intermittent noise, some location travel. Dust, temperature varies. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, possibly including one weekend day and part of a rotating On-Call after hours support team. Must have reliable vehicle as this role requires travel to locations.
