LSS Life Safety Services® is an industry leader in passive fire protection inspection services such as Fire and Smoke Damper Inspections, Fire Door Inspections, Firestopping, and building commissioning services to facilities throughout the United States. LSS’ testing helps clients meet compliance standards set by The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Code Council, The Joint Commission, State Fire Marshals, Insurance Risk Auditors and other regulatory agencies which require the periodic inspection of passive fire protection systems. Life Safety Services seeks a construction professional with supervisory experience for its Project Superintendent position.
Role and Responsibilities
- Supervise firestop technicians responsible for Inspecting firewalls and installing firestop material per NFPA code
- Assigns tasks to firestop technicians
- Ensures appropriate material and equipment are ordered and delivered
- Performs quality checks on work performed
- Makes sure project remains on schedule
- Develop work schedules for firestop technicians
- Communicate progress on projects to Project Manager
- Serves as a liaison between firestop technicians and the Project Manager and supervisors
- Ensures project is adequately staffed, including helping to interview candidates for positions
- Make sure the project is staying on or budget.
- Maintain professional, timely, communication with customers
- May resolve disputes between firestop technician
- Attend Job Training Activities
Requirements
- Experience in carpentry, drywall, and insulation knowledge a plus
- Experience and knowledge in fire stopping methodology helpful
- Must provide own tools
- Ability to interpret life safety drawings
- Experience in customer service and working with the public
- Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently and efficiently
- Good record keeping and tracking of facilities inspections
- Professional appearance
- Knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel and Email)
- Travel Required – 10 days gone, 4 days home.
Additional Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must have valid driver license (not a requirement for this assignment)
- Must pass drug screen, criminal background check & physical exam
