JRH is seeking a Technical Proposal Writer (Consultant). The Technical Proposal Writer will support our government and commercial technical writing requirements across JRH divisions. The Technical Proposal Writer will be responsible for translating complex technical solutions, strategies, and themes into easily understandable, readable, compelling, and compliant RFI/RFQ/RFP responses. Additionally, the Technical Proposal Writer will be responsible for developing successful responses utilizing their broad base technical knowledge, and keen writing ability. The Technical Proposal Writer will be expected to use a set of provided resources (e.g., SME’s, Solution Architects, members of Business Development Team, Google, and other tools).
The Technical Proposal Writer will provide writing and editorial expertise and collaborate with proposal teams at each stage of the proposal process to write and edit RFI/RFQ/RFP responses. The Technical Proposal Writer will edit content to have a consistent, singular voice across RFP/RFI responses, and will ensure consistency of messaging.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop compliant and compelling proposal narratives by translating technical solutions, strategies, and themes into easily understandable responses
· Collaborate with content writers, Subject Matter Experts, and proposal team for compliance and integration
· Provide consistent messaging and content alignment to the proposed solution (i.e., one-speak)
· Incorporate client-centric techniques to develop compelling responses
· Work towards developing a winning proposal narrative (including management plans, staffing plans, past performance/experience, transition plans, quality initiatives and other areas) independently and through SME/Solution Architect interactions
General qualifications:
· Bachelors’ Degree in technical writing, English, or comparable communication-related discipline
· Minimum 3 years of proposal and/or sales-focused technical writing experience
· Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
· Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
· Ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, customer needs and work on multiple projects simultaneously
· High attention to detail and ability to execute tasks and assignments with a high level of accuracy
· Persistent personality with analytical and problem-solving skills
· Desire to win is a must
