KSA's1. Extensive knowledge of the principles of public health surveillance and the application of epidemiological methods to public health issues.
2. Knowledge of population-level infection control practices.
3. Ability to train, coordinate, review, and evaluate the activities of disease surveillance and investigation.
4. Ability to manage and manipulate large datasets using statistical packages such as SAS, R, EpiInfo, Tableau, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Excel.
5. Advanced Knowledge of statistical packages SAS, R, and ArcGIS.
6. Ability to develop and maintain database systems such as REDCap for accurate capture and management of public health data.
7. Ability to solve problems, internally motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
8. Able to work independently and in a group to accomplish tasks with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
9. Knowledge of the organization of and relationships among state, count, and city governments in matters relating to emergency preparedness and disease surveillance and investigation activities.
10. Excellent skills in communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
