Position: Safety Specialist / Coordinator -DOT
US1 Logistics is seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to join our team to provide support to our Safety & Compliance department. This is an opportunity to become a member of the US1 Network located in Ponte Vedra.
Position Summary
This position is to assist in the administration of activities related to Owner Operators on DOT compliance, regulations, and safety, as well as US1 Logistics’ policies and procedures. This is a fast-paced role with a need for efficient multi-tasking, problem-solving, and communication.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide support as part of our Safety team, assisting in daily office needs to owner operators and agents
- Assist with driver on-boarding
- Maintain driver qualification files and records
- Work with and assist other safety team members as needed
- Assist with safety policies and procedures that follow local, state, and federal rules and regulations including FMCSA and Department of Transportation (DOT)
- Assist with updating spreadsheets and systems as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or clerical role within the transportation industry, DOT preferred
- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and scanners
- Critical attention to detail with strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (MS Excel and Outlook in particular)
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, Drug & Alcohol Regulations, and other Regulatory Guidance is a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and under direction of department leads
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Read, write, and speak English fluently. Bi-lingual is a plus
Work Schedule: 100% on site Monday-Friday – 8:00 am-5:00 pm
