An affordable housing nonprofit seeking experienced Payroll and AP Clerk to work out of our home office. Candidate should be conscientious, reliable, and have excellent accounting and bookkeeping skills. This position requires proficiency in QuickBooks, Paylocity and Yardi (will train the right person), a high degree of productivity, and the ability to multitask in a high volume setting, with a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating and entering data
- Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
- Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, compassionate leave and non-taxable wages
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
- Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files.
- Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Enter invoices that come to the main office for all sites via Yardi PAYscan.
- Monthly, quarterly and yearly reports, including 1099’s for vendors.
- Ensures that all mortgages, utility and tax invoices are paid on a timely basis.
- Post monthly recurring bills and monthly journal entries.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of Accounts Payable or Payroll experience.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree is preferred.
- Excellent organization skills, with the ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects.
- Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.
- Meets deadlines and consistently produces quality work.
- Ability to identify key issues/problems and provide solutions.
- Team player, but able to work independently.
