Position Title: Digital Media Specialist
BISM is looking for a self-motivated, creative, and experienced Digital Media Specialist to join our team! As a Digital Media Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating all BISM’s communications activities and campaigns. The Digital Media Specialist will be responsible for boosting BISM’s brand awareness across all communications channels.
Main duties include but are not limited to creating content for digital communications through email, creation of marketing materials, social media, and promotion of events. The Digital Media Specialist helps with the production of marketing materials, and visual storytelling. This position reports to the Director of Development and Communications.
Essential Skills:
· A confident communicator and presenter
· Strong writing, editing, proofreading, including ability to present concepts verbally.
· Project management and planning skills
· Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media.
· Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach
Position Responsibilities:
· Oversee all internal and external communications for BISM to include quarterly newsletter, and weekly announcements.
· Coordinate and manage as well as design the creation of digital content across all channels (website, podcast, and social media channel’s
· Analyze BISM’s social media strategy regularly and identify strategic weaknesses, make recommendations for improvements
· Set KPI’s for social media campaigns and measure digital campaign performance against set KPI’s
· Assist with digital and print fundraising strategies such as donor communications, marketing campaigns, and fundraising materials.
· Uphold the BISM brand by assuring correct usage of brand guidelines in all external communications and marketing materials, signage, and displays.
· Develop a comprehensive digital media strategy
· Manage monthly podcast episodes, including all content related to podcast as well as filming
· Oversee website for BISM.org.
· Collaborate with senior leadership and staff to implement an effective communications strategy that aligns with BISM’s mission and vision.
· Meet and conduct interviews with students, graduates, and associates to use for communication purposes.
Qualifications & Skills
· In-depth knowledge of social media platforms
· Basic Design Skills (Canva)
· Knowledge of Airtable and Later platforms
· Effective and creative verbal and written communication
· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
· Ability to manage multiple projects at once, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
· Up to date on industry trends
· Strong computer skills, including social media platforms and WordPress
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications with a concentration in Digital media or relevant experience
· Demonstrated experience in nonprofit communications.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $46,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
