Lead Junior Kindergarten Teacher
Overview:
Trinity Episcopal Day School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Kindergarten Lead Teacher to join our dynamic team. The Junior Kindergarten program at Trinity is designed to foster a love for learning while providing students with a solid foundation for academic success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, with a focus on developing foundational literacy and numeracy skills. Our Junior Kindergarten Lead Teacher will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets the developmental needs of Junior Kindergarten students, with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and early science and social studies concepts.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying learning styles and abilities.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and respected.
- Collaborate with other members of the TEDS team to ensure continuity and alignment across age levels.
- Utilize a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for Junior Kindergarten students, encouraging leadership skills and responsible behavior.
- Actively participate in school-wide events and activities, including chapel services and community service projects.
- Stay current with best practices in early childhood education and participate in professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Prior teaching experience in a preschool or early elementary setting.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Experience with differentiated instruction and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to creating a joyful and engaging learning environment.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to collaborate with others.
