Job Summary
We are hiring a Human Resources Generalist, reporting to the Human Resources Manager. In this role the HR Generalist is responsible for the human resources needs and implementation of best practices to support the achievement of business, HR and staff objectives.
This position will be responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruiting and onboarding, policies and practices and building programs to support our growing team.
The HR Generalist is also accountable for the vital task of ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations for HR policies and processes. This position must be able to balance overall business needs, employee support and the ongoing operational needs of the company while maintaining compliance with all HR regulations. This person must be a proven change leader with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive information.
Duties/Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition:

Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and build creative sourcing strategies.

Onboard candidates and provide outstanding new hire experience ensuring candidates are trained in accordance with compliance and employment policies.
Performance management/Training & Development:

Performs tasks required to administer and execute human resource functions including but not limited to performance, talent management recognition, and training and development.
Compliance:
-
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Client Service:
-
Work effectively with all employee levels and provide exceptional HR services.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Culture:

Promote a positive and open work environment where employees are engaged with open communication.

Partner with HR Manager and leadership in developing workplace initiatives to support our growing company.
HR Best Practices:

Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
HRIS Management:

Responsible for the system on-boarding of candidates once final offer is accepted.

Data entry of employee/contractor information into HR/Payroll system.

Ensures employee HR files are complete, updated, and compliant with audit standards.

Education and Experience:
-
Three+ years HR professional level experience in a generalist role, in at least 3 HR disciplines: talent acquisition, training and development, performance management, employment policies and compliance.

Must possess basic knowledge of current federal and state employment law and Human Resources policies and practices.

Proficient in the use of computers and associated HRIS software.
-
PHR or SHRM-CP Certification.

Previous experience using Workday as a HRIS.
