Primary responsibilities
The Welding Technician role is a shop floor role and will be responsible for working on a number of different task across a diverse array of projects within the marine industry. While the projects may vary, typical daily tasks include (but are not limited to):
· Welding (including Steel & Aluminum using a variety of welding techniques)
· Basic Metal Fabrication (including using drills, grinders, sanders and other hand and power tools)
Candidates should expect to occasionally participate in on-site technical support for delivered products. Typical travel is < 10% and within the United States.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role is a technical individual that feels confident working independently on a variety of projects without consistent direct supervision. MAPC designs and fabricates a variety of components and assemblies, so experience with boats and other marine products would be helpful, but is not required. Candidates at all skill levels are encouraged to apply, as there are multiple positions available. Salary is commensurate with experience
Required
Experience with steel and aluminum welding, including MIG Welding
Experience welding in aerospace, automotive or marine industry
Ability to read and understand prints & work instructions
Math skills and the ability to accurately use measuring tools like calipers or a tape measure
Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment
High standards & a commitment to a high level of workmanship
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
Schedule oriented
Excellent problem solving skills
Preferred
Experience TIG Welding
Experience on other highly technical welding projects
Experience operating forklifts & other material handling systems
